16. Henski Reservoir Wildlife Viewing Area

Habitat: The Henski wetland is part of 375-acre Spaudling Wetland Complex. The habitat surrounding Henski Reservoir is pine forest with sage openings. During the migration, thousands of ducks and geese pass through the Modoc Plateau, and Henski provides an easy access to see many of them. An osprey nesting platform is another outstanding feature in the area.
Birds: Black Terns, Cinnamon Teal, Pied-billed & Eared Grebes, Western Bluebirds
Directions: From Canby travel 15.5 mi N. on Hwy 139 to dirt Rd on S side of the Hwy. Road is 1 mi S. of Bieber/Lookout Rd (Co Rd 91). Do not use the road when wet.
